In one of those “head-scratching” bits of information, an article that ran 5 Jun 1912 in the Victoria, Texas, Daily Advocate reported that “James Lingo, the 14-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Lingo, was struck by an automobile Monday morning, and quite painfully, though not seriously, Injured.”
It’s unclear if the article has the name wrong, if Roy went by James, or if this is someone else. Roy’s brothers Arthur Neil and Joseph Andrew were two years older or younger.
It is more certain that Roy died of a heart attack while driving in 1968.
